The Veolia Envirogrant backed community garden here at the centre has been a real success in its first year, proving that good ideas, strengthened with a little investment, time, enthusiasm and lot’s of commitment will always flourish.
Over the summer months, volunteers have worked hard to tend to the garden, which has seen lots of crops thrive. The fresh produce, including a variety of crops such as potatoes, tomatoes and squashes along with beans and leaves have all been harvested and used to support the community. A real blooming success!
Recently a little more ground was cleared and a compost bin has been installed. The addition of a water butt, which is next on the list, will help the garden to continue to grow from strength to strength. This kind of exciting, community-based action is not possible without the dedication from volunteers, so thank you! For more information check out the recent Shropshire Star article.
